Mr. Tyrone Googer and the late Ms. Deborah Woods were blessed on November 22, 1972 with a bouncy bundle of joy they named Eric Jermain Googer. A bundle of joy and a smile that glowed with love for the world was all over him.

Eric started his early days of education at in the Atlanta Public School System went on to receive his High School Diploma from Samuel H. Archer High School Graduating Class of 1991. While attending Archer High, Eric was an all-around sportsman and a well-known class clown that was constantly reprimanded for cracking jokes in class. Eric was the life of the party and the spunk of everything he was a part of. While attending Archer High, Eric was an active participant of Peer Group Connection and Senior Homecoming Court.

After Eric completed High School, he went on to become a well-known Landscaper. But the best was yet to come for Eric, one sunny afternoon; he met the Love of his Life, Sharon Mitchell. The two became Inseparable and in January of 1998, they were united in marriage and were blessed in their union with a beautiful baby girl they named Phoenicia. Phoenicia was indeed Eric’s second wife and very best friend. As life brought about many challenges for Eric, he never lost his Faith in God and his love for his family grew stronger each day. Sharon and Phoenicia made sure that Eric had the best of days as they enjoyed great times and great laughs.

At an early age, Eric accepted Christ in his heart and as his personal Savior. He became a member of Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Solomon Whitfield, Jr. and later regave his life to the church under the current Pastor, Rev. Tracy Wheeler, Sr...

On Monday, June 27, 2016, Eric laid his head in his best friend, his soulmate, his wife lap and made his peaceful transition into the Arms of Jesus. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Deborah A. Woods, Mother and Father-n-Law, Lewis and Lizzie Mitchell and Sister-n-law, Phyllis Morton.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Mrs. Sharon R. Googer; Five children: Phoenicia Googer; Gary (Saudia), Rodney, Porshia and Timothy; Father, Tyrone(Clarise) Googer; Grandmother Odessa Woods; Evelyn Tiller; Siblings: Antonio Woods, Terrence Googer, Temeka Allen, Lyric Googer, Mckayla Googer; Grandkids, Rodney (Nuk-Nuk), Gary (JuJu), Khaliyah, Jaylah and Khloe; Bestfriend/Brother, Daniel (Pooh-Pooh) Hardie; Brother-n-laws, Thomas (Sharon) Mangham; Willie (Kathleen) Ellis, Lynferd Morton; Sister-n-laws, Gloria Hinton, Tracy (Ronald) Franklin; Teresa (Adrian) Devezin; a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
