Welcome to the memorial page for

Mr. Larry Hadley

September 18, 1945 ~ September 4, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Larry Hadley entered into rest on Monday, September 4, 2017 at his residence at the age of seventy-two. Larry was born on September 18, 1945 in San Francisco, California to the late Mr. Simon Mills Hadley and Mrs. Emma Hadley.

He attended public schools and completed his education in the San Francisco school district, received his high school diploma and associates degree in Computer Science at Bay Valley Tech. He went on to work at Amdahl Corporation as Shipping and Receiving Clerk Supervisor; Uniphase Corporation as a Laser Technician; Hewlett Packard as a Computer Technician; Seven years as a Colporteur, working for the Lord and finally a Real Estate Agent for Keller Williams. Retirement followed.

Growing up he was first baptized into the Union Springs Baptist Church at five years old. Years later he was again baptized into the Seventh-Day-Adventist church at San Francisco Central, SDA at age twenty-four. It was in 1973 that he met Mary, his life-long partner and best friend. They were married April 13, 1975 at the San Francisco Philadelphian SDA church. It was then that he transferred his membership to the S.F. Philadelphian SDA church where he continued his service as a devout Sabbath School teacher, usher, deacon, and pathfinder director for two area clubs. He also served as first Elder at the East Palo Alto SDA church when he and Mary relocated there in 1976. Finally after moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 2005 he served two terms as first Elder at the Maranatha SDA Church.

Larry’s love, joy and anchor were rooted in the word of God which he took very seriously. He studied deeply early morning. The Lord would speak with him audibly at times with messages and new revelations. One particular revelation that stood out most recently was to bring the church into Holy Convocation. He met challenges but was firm in his conviction that it was what the Lord said must be done.

Larry loved family. He was the youngest son of eight children, four sisters and three brothers. What he remembered most is how much he loved teasing and scaring his two little sisters, Jeanette and Lucille. He loved to laugh, play chess and basketball. He was a fun loving, humble man, yet what he knew to be right he stood firm and would not be moved. He was positive and optimistic always finding hope in every situation, and he never complained even in his sickness. His aim was to put others before himself and uplift them while doing so. God forever blessed him and he has touched many young people’s heart. Larry will be missed dearly and not forgotten. He tried his best to pass the torch to his children, nieces and nephews and all young people. He hoped he   touched everyone’s life he met and to see them in heaven.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Hadley of forty-two years; his children; Tyrone & Lynn Hadley, Mark Harris, Lawrence Hadley, Anthony Hadley, Philip Hadley, Priscilla Hadley, William Hadley, Darryl Hadley and Floydette Roy; Deceased daughter, Rayann Hadley; A host of grandchildren, great grands, Siblings; .Norma Beauchamp, Lucile Taylor, Ida Hollins; Deceased siblings; Jeanette Hadley, Melvin Hadley, Betty Burton, and Simon Hadley, Jr., and a host of nieces & nephews, cousins and other loving friends.

Well…after this life as you have seen, I hope to see you all in Heaven, around the “Welcome Table.”

---Larry Hadley
