Mr. Willie Jenkins

Mr. Willie E. Jenkins, 74 entered eternal rest on October 14, 2016. He was educated in the public schools of Chatham County and a graduate of Alfred E. Beach High School and continued his education at Savannah State College (now University) where he received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Math and Physics. He was also a member of the 1975 Outstanding Young Men of America, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity where he was known as a humanitarian in the community. He was a veteran of the U.S Army and National Guards serving for twenty years. including a tour in Vietnam and the National Guards in which he received numerous of medals and awards. He retired in 2009 from Bellsouth now AT&T after thirty years, of service. He was a faithful member of the West End Church of Christ.
Surviving are: wife of 51 years, Izetta Jenkins, one son: Michael Edward Jenkins (Keona Singleton Jenkins); grandsons, Eric Riley, Paul Riley (Justis Riley), Caleb Singleton, Christian E. Jenkins, one precious granddaughter, Victoria Jenkins; sister-in-laws, Brenda Summers, Yolanda Lovett; sisters at heart, Willa Smith and Catherine Roberts; five Godchildren, Eric Brantley, Derrick Brantley, Aisha Scott, Ronnie Smith, Johnice Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.
