Welcome to the memorial page for

Mrs. Mary Ann (Wilson) Robinson

April 28, 1943 ~ October 10, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Mrs. Mary Ann Robinson was born April 23, 1943 to the late Viola and Carl Wilson in Columbus, GA.  Mary was the third born of 10 children.  She was called home from labor to reward on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Emory Hospital in the break of the morning.

Mary accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and spent her years embodying His word of faith.  She joined, was baptized into the Lutheran faith, and married in Lutheran ceremony.

Mary graduated from Spencer High School in Columbus, GA.  She went on to earn a trade in Tailoring and Upholstery, which proved to be a skill of labor and love that she used for many years.  Mary fell in love with and married the late Louis O. Robinson, Sr.  To this union, they raised four children.  Louis’ work in the Peace Corps led them to reside in a few states before settling Washington, DC., where they were members of Trinity Lutheran Church.  They were faithful members until the couple retired to their home state of Georgia.  Once they settled in Atlanta, Mary joined Emmanuel Lutheran Church and remained a faithful member until her health would no longer prevail.

Mary had a heart of gold.  She was strong, wise and positive.  Mary was also generous with her time and talents.  She taught so many, explicitly and by example.  Mary loved her family more than anything.  She opened her heart, her home and her life to her beloved kin immeasurably, always with a big meal and a comfortable place to sleep and rest.  When she or other loved ones were confronted with difficult situations, she would always say, “It will work itself out” and surely, it would come to pass.  She will heartily be missed by family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Louis O. Robinson, Sr, her sons Louis O. Robinson, Jr. and Philip Robinson.  Mary leaves two daughters to cherish her precious memories, Mrs. Harriet Robinson-Perry (Widowed), Mrs. Yolanda Banks (Marcus, Sr.).  Mary’s siblings are in Willie-Joe McCormick (deceased), Carl Wilson (Agnes), Viola Evans (deceased), Ulysses Wilson, Leroy Wilson (deceased), Dorothy Allen, Helen Southall (deceased), Kenneth Wilson, and Marguerite Green (Charles).  Mary is survived by 10 grandchildren, Louis O Robinson, Jr., Ranee Robinson, Amy Peete, Marcus Banks, Jr., Mercedes Banks, Maisha Banks, Moriah Banks and Mason Banks.  She has two “angel” granddaughters, Brittany Southall and Narchadille Arbuckle (Mark).  Mary has two great-grandchildren, London Robinson and Marcus Banks, III.  Mary also leaves a legacy of love to a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
