Mrs. Wanda E. McKnight

Wanda Elaine Mcknight known as “Laine” to many lived an exciting life. Laine was born March 9, 1957 in Atlanta, GA and departed her life on January 24, 2016 at the age of 58.

Laine joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and was baptized by the Rev. Roswell Jackson. She is also a proud alumnus of West Fulton High School.

Laine’s life was full of travel and had an overwhelming love for the road. This passion led her to attend trucking schools and receive her Commercial Drivers License and many drivers’ advance certification. Laine traveled many highways and byways of the United States. There was not a state that she was not familiar with.

Laine’s love for tractor trailers also resulted in a love for commercial buses. As an independent driver, Laine was trusted by many to carry out trips. She was not the person to commit to one company; she made herself available to all. She would quite often volunteer her to churches and many civic organizations that required her services. As she has conducted many trips, her highlight trip was transporting Benjamin E. Mays High School Band with her granddaughter. Laine had an overwhelming love for Cappie (Cat) and Baby (DOG). She loved them dearly as she considered them as her children.

Laine leaves to cherish her memory daughter April A. Calloway (Walter) and son Micheal Wallace Jr. (Anitra). Grandsons Brian, Wesley, Ty’Kelis and Kamari,Granddaughters Tariyah, Kailyn, Kalaisia, Jayiah and Great-grandson Jayden. She also leaves to cherish her memory Kevin Dean in which they shared a bond for life, a special cousin Betty Mckinney-Edwards and a host of relatives and friends.
