Mr. Nehemiah Dix Obituary

Nehemiah Dix born on December 5, 1960 to Violet Dix Harden and the late Louis James Harden, Sr. in Savannah, Georgia. He was called to his heavenly home on Monday, September 9, 2019 after a short illness in Dayton, Ohio.

    Nehemiah was educated in Savannah-Chatham County School System.  He graduated from Jenkins High School in 1979.  He was athletic while in school; he played full back for the “Warriors”. Nehemiah received a full scholarship to play football at Clemson University.  

    He united in holy matrimony with Mamie Ruth Moody, and this union created two children, India Dix and the late Huran Dix. Prior to this union, he had one son,Christopher Mincey.

    He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Violet Harden, Stockbridge, Georgia; Mamie Ruth Dix of Aiken, South Carolina; two children, India Dix of Aiken South Carolina, and Christopher Mincey ofSavannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Christopher Mincey, Jr., Treyvon Mincey, Zecoi Mincey of Savannah, Georgia and a special granddaughter, Huriyah KayonnaStampley of Beech Island, South Carolina; two brothers, Wendell Harden of New York City, and  Louis James(Sonya LaTrelle) Harden, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Annette (Jimmy) Harden-Taylor of Jonesboro, Georgia and Michelle (James)Harden-Brown of Stockbridge,Georgia; five aunts, Rosemary Hicks, andPatsy Foreman of Aiken, South Carolina, Annette Harden Sellars of Effingham County, Stephanie Harden Singleton and Yvonne Lyons Sands of Savannah, Georgia.  Three uncles, Ezekiel (Pat)Foreman,Augusta, Georgia, Earnest (Wendy)Foreman,Aiken, South, Carolina, and Jimmie (Karen)Foreman, Beech Island, South, Carolina; one grand uncle, Ervine Foreman, Brooklyn, New York. Mother-in-law, Mary Moody Burnette, Aiken, South, Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Wilbert Moody, Jr., and Martin Moody, Aiken, South Carolina; four sisters-in-law, Debra (Robbie) Smith, Lisa (Aaron) Rauch, Jackie Moody all of Aiken, South, Carolina, and Audrea Odom of Snellville, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
