Mrs. Alice Myrick Dorsey

On Friday, July 5, 2019, Alice Virginia Myrick Dorsey heard her name called by the Lord and she answered.
Alice was born on April 9, 1940, in Warren County to Henry Roy and Jeanette Myrick. She was the third of six children. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda and Dorothy, and one brother, Harry.
Alice was baptized at an early age and served only the risen Savior until her departure from this earth. She received her education in the Atlanta Public School System, graduating from Luther J. Price High School in 1957.
She met the love of her life, Robert W. Dorsey, at nine years old and married him in 1960. Robert and Alice brought three beautiful daughters into this world and raised them in Atlanta and Decatur. They celebrated 51 years of marriage before Robert preceded Alice in death.
Alice joined the workforce in the 1960’s and was employed by the Federal Government for 30 years before retirement. She was a faithful member of the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church for 25 years under the pastorate of Rev. Jerry D. Black, Sr.
Through the years, Alice adopted many sons and daughters and never met a stranger. And if you were given the honor of her friendship, you were a friend for life. She was a comedian in our eyes, wise, friendly, loving, kind, accepting, forgiving, strong willed, blessed and highly favored by God. The precious memories she made with all of her friends and family will never be forgotten.
She leaves behind: daughters, Pamela (Cornada) Russell, Wendy (Gregory) Curtis, Alicia (Rodriques) Walker; seven grandchildren, Allison (Lamar), Jasmine, Lovely (Fernando) Bryant, Morgan, Gregory II, Teyah, and Tristan; five great- grandchildren; brother, Eddie Roy Myrick, Sr.; sister, Paulette Bryant, four nephews, six nieces; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
