Mrs. Etta (Glass) Nelson

Mrs. Etta Glass Nelson was born on April 29, 1948 to the late L.E. Glass and Ella Addie. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Harris, brothers Andrew Glass, David Glass and her eldest son Johnny Frank Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 44 years, Vernon Lee Nelson, Sr.  Her siblings, Leander(Stella) Glass, Virginia (Lee) Clark; James Glass and Jesse Kate Zachery. Her children Elder Angelina (Tommy) Jones-Huggins; Bruce(Juanita) Jones; Vernon (Kay) Nelson, Jr.; Kameshia Jones; Vernard Nelson, Veronica (Luke) Foster; Vernetta Long, Deshonia(Timothy) Pinson; Keisha Glass-Holmes (Andre), Matthew Nelson and Carlos Nelson.  Thirty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Etta was a caretaker of others throughout her life. She came from humble beginnings and lived a simple and quiet life. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.  She fed the multitude of children, families and friends who visited. She was an avid card player and loved music. She spent her last days in the arms of those who loved her.
