Little Miss Genesys Artis

On May 31, 2018 Genesys Skye Marie Artis entered this life 7 weeks earlier than Pheonyx and DeJai expected. At 3lbs 3oz she was kicking and screaming doing back bends on the incubator table. Not because she was in distress but because she wanted the nurses to leave her alone! Once they wrapped her up in her blanket she calmed down and went right to sleep.

      Genesys was in the NICU at Northside Hospital for a long two months. During her time in the unit she broke the record for most feeding tubes removed.  This loving baby's very short life left a lasting impression and changed lives. Genesys was born with many obstacles and barriers that were incompatible with life, yet she lived. She had ailments that were impossible for her live a meaningful life outside of a vegetative state however, Genesys did, and she was always happy. Genesys was able to communicate her needs and wants, her likes and dislikes, and her happiness and sadness even though we were told she would not. Even though, her mobility was limited she lit up from the sound of other kids playing and would get very verbal and interact with all the laughter and playing from the other kids. She impacted lives and encouraged others without even trying. 

Genesys leaves memories of her impact with her parents; Pheonyx Artis and DeJai Felix, grandparents; ShaOtia Artis, Anthony Kramer, Sr., Jasmine Perry, and Sean Stanley, A very special Great Aunt, Lakora Loyd; Great grandparents; Walter and Gloria Artis, Sharon Kramer, Clifford Tonge, and Gloria Felix. She also leaves to cherish fond memories of her with Aunts -Otiah Artis, Aniyah Kramer, DiJamore' Felix, uncles; Anthony Kramer, Josiah Felix and DiJade Felix; Great Aunts- ChaWalta Artis , Falipia Artis, Jesikia Artis, Titiua Artis, Daloria Artis, Rosiekia Artis, Yvette Richards, Desra Felix, Jennifer Felix, Leria Felix, Love Felix, Lenora Felix, Lecia Felix,  Great Uncle’s, Quincy Artis, Corey Loyd, Walter Artis, Jr., Valinquis Artis, Jobee Artis, Derrick Felix, Denzil Felix, and Clifton Richards, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
