DeJohn was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late John Lupoe III and Charlotte Walker Lupoe. He was the second eldest of five children.
DeJohn was educated in the Atlanta Public School System. He would end his studies at L.J. Price High School. He came from an athletic family who enjoyed playing sports. He was an all-around athlete, but he fell in love with football. He would go on to play semi-pro football with Atlanta Prime. They won several championship rings! He would later become the offensive line coordinator for the same team. Football was his life, until he wasn’t well enough to play and/or coach anymore. Let’s not forget that he was also a talented DJ, known as “Hard Rockin’ DJ Pete”.
DeJohn, affectionately known as “Pete”, worked for and medically retired from Johnson Controls, where he made many life-long friends.
He leaves to mourn his passing: two children, Demarco Y. Robinson and Deshawn Lupoe; two grandchildren, Demarco Y. Robinson, Jr., and Dallas Ace Robinson; a brother, Enrique Lupoe (Latarsha); three sisters, Vanessa Lupoe, Mia Lupoe Foster (Sammy), and Shemeka Lupoe Dollar (Rodorecus “Rod”); his special uncles, Michael Walker, Joseph Walker, Jr., and Johnathon Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
