Demetrius “Me Me” Smith was born on July 27, 1968 to Roosevelt and Maggie Smith in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the ninth born of ten children. Blessedly, he had five children of his own, three sons and two daughters.
Demetrius attended school at East Saint Louis Senior High School where he graduated in 1986. He loved playing sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and running track. He later coached his sons in their school sports which he greatly enjoyed and received “Coach of the Year!”
He married and relocated to Washington State where he and his family lived before moving to Hawaii. He spent fifteen years in his most favorite place, this beautiful island. There, he enjoyed walking on the beach, experiencing, and embracing the Polynesian culture. Since 2010, Demetrius resided in Georgia alongside his family. His happiest moments were spent watching movies with his daughters, enjoying sports with his father, laughing with his siblings and joking with his children.
Demetrius Smith was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Smith; his sister, Melissa Smith, his brothers, Marvin Smith and Melvin Smith.
He is survived by his father, Roosevelt Smith; his siblings, Dexter Smith, Connie Smith, Steven Smith, Don Smith, and Yolanda Smith; along with his children, Demetrius Smith Jr., Norvell Smith, Armond Smith, Armoni Smith, Maggie Smith; his daughters-in-law, Jillian Smith and Nicolette Walker, two grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, more relatives and friends.
