Everett Alfred Flowers, Sr., was born to Celestine and Henry Williams on December 8, 1924, in San Mateo, Putnam County, Florida. He transitioned into his Heavenly Father’s arms on October 11, 2020.
Christian Life
At an early age, Everett was baptized at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, San Mateo, FL, where he remained throughout most of his adult life. Once he moved to Atlanta, he joined Shiloh Baptist Church, under the retired Rev. Sims. He remained an active member until his illness.
Everett’s Education
Everett was educated in the Putnam County School System from elementary through Central Academy High School. He furthered his education at Savannah State College, Savannah, Georgia.
Everett’s Employment
His first employment was with the Putnam County School System in Palatka, Florida. He then worked at NASA Kennedy Space Center. His last employment was with Eastern Airlines in Miami, Florida. He moved to Atlanta and continued at Eastern until he retired.
Everett at Play
It was all about the great game of golf, which he played throughout his life and received many trophies and rewards.
Everett’s Legacy
Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Flowers, twin sons, Robert and Eddie, stepson, Keith Black, a granddaughter, Carolyn Brown, and his only sister, Mrs. Mercedes Locklear.
He leaves behind to remember him: two sons, Everett Jr., and Sigmund Harris; four daughters, Cynthia (James) Brown, Lauren, Helene (Frank) Williams, and Yvette (Vincent) Burford, all of Atlanta; five nieces, his only sister’s daughters, Ramona, Bonita, Zactoria, Sondra, and Karen Locklear, all of Florida; eight grandsons and ten granddaughters; 29 great-grands, and 15 great-great-grands.
