Henry Lee Horton, Jr. known by most as Junior went home to his lord and savior on January 29, 2021 after a complicated battle with COVID19.
Junior was born to Jessie Pearl (Bass) and Henry Lee Horton, Sr. on July 14, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Junior was in the 1985 graduating class of Henry W. Grady High School in Atlanta, Georgia. After completion of high school, Henry joined the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge from the Army, afterwards he started working in Construction where he spent the bulk of his professional career. He received an associate degree in Information Technology from ITT Technical College and became an ordained minister through his life’s journey.
He had an amazing spirit and was loved by many. He was often the life of the party and or comedian. His personable demeanor drew people to him. There aren’t many people that can say they did not like him after spending just 10 minutes with him. Junior was always there for his family and friends when he was needed. He was dependable, supportive, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. These are just a few adjectives to honor a man who made an impact on so many lives from coaching football, assisting family and friends in need, to introducing God to people’s lives.
Junior was preceded in death by his father and oldest son: Henry Lee Horton Sr. and Henry Lee Horton, III.
Junior’s spirit will be kept alive by all that loved and cared for him. He is survived by 5 sisters and a brother: Linda Horton-Binn, Jacqueline Horton-Walton, Marilyn Horton, Annette Horton, Theresa Drummond, and Tony Horton. He leaves behind a daughter, two sons, and two grandchildren: Ashley Horton, Xavier Horton, Jordan Horton, Noah Horton, and Aniya Horton. His memory will also be cherished by a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friend
