Mr. Johnny Jackson Obituary

Johnny Jackson, age 64, was born on January 26, 1958, in Atlanta, GA to A.D. Green and Myrtice Jackson. After the death of his mother, he moved to Columbus, OH where he lived with his brother, Eugene Jackson, and family. It is where he met and married Sharon (Wilson) Jackson.

Johnny graduated from Linden McKinley High School and later enlisted into the U.S. Navy. While serving in the Navy, he moved around to various locations across the southeast. After being honorably discharged, Johnny relocated his family to his hometown of Atlanta, GA. 

Johnny was a “people person” and he loved helping anyone in need. He was a member of his family’s church, New Hope Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher board and was a member of the Men’s Choir. He also assisted in the partnership of his church and The Department of Family and Children Services.

Johnny entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in Atlanta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtice Jackson, father, A. D. Green, brothers Eugene and Charles Jackson, and sister Venella Allen (Alphonso).  He is survived by his daughters Kelli (Lathan) Wood and Sherika Jackson; grandsons, Lathan Wood II & Kaiden Wood; nieces & nephews Jacquelyn Williams, Deanna Helton, Bridget Fallin, Aaron Tyler, and Chauncey Tyler. Johnny also leaves behind a host of family & friends
