Mr. Kenneth Dent Obituary

Due to the CORVID - 19 we are asking friends to be considerate of the Mayor of the City of Atlanta's request of only fifty people in a gathering. The funeral will be streamed via William Gayleano Murray and Son, Inc. Facebook page.

Thursday, March 12, 2020, God dispatched an angel of death to the city of Decatur, GA, and called Kenny to rest.

Kenneth Dent was born February 6, 1966, to the late Bertha Bell Dent and James Shivers of Atlanta, GA. Kenneth was the baby out of eight kids. Kenneth attended Campbell Elementary and then Carver High School, where he was the star quarterback. Kenneth also played trumpet in the school band. After graduating, Kenneth went on to work at Fort Gillem as a production worker. Throughout the years, Kenneth held several jobs including, Precision Concrete, and his last job was at Technique Construction Company. Kenneth was a loving, caring, generous, and very funny person who was always full of life and in great spirits. Kenneth could also throw down on that grill....Yes, indeed. Kenny loved to play basketball, cards, dominoes, and of course, he loved to party. He touched the lives of many with his smile and generosity. Kenny was indeed a pillar of the Dent family and will be immensely missed by all. Kenny was always the life of the party.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Bell Dent and James Shivers; brother, Henry Lee Horton; sisters, Patricia Dent and Claudette Dent; and nephew, Frank (Poochie) Harris III.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Kendria Dent of Decatur, GA, and Miracle Dent of Atlanta, GA; sons, Demarco and Rico Dent of Jonesboro, GA, Jemario Dent of Decatur, GA, and Kenneth Dent, Jr., of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Beverly A. Thomas and Marvia Upshaw of Atlanta, GA, and Cozsetta (Willie) Gardner of Union City, GA; brother, Alfred Dent of Atlanta, GA; fourteen grandchildren; eleven nieces; ten nephews; two ex-wives, who were very devoted and loving friends, Rhonda Clemons and Marsha Ezzard; and a host of other cousins, family, and friends.
