Obituary

Mario Antoine Peterson was born on December 6, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia at Grady Memorial Hospital. Mario took pride in being a “Grady Baby.” He was the eldest son of Anquinette Peterson and Allen Dunn who preceded him in death.

Mario attended Carver High School and went on to achieve getting his GED. He later pursued various occupations while striving to become a business owner. It was his dream to own the store down the street from mama’s house.

Mario resided in the Summerhill/Peoplestown area of Atlanta. He had an unimaginable love for the Summerhill/Peoplestown community. From there was born the pride and joys of his life; his four children Chasity, Demario, Kamari, and Kamonii.

Mario brought so much joy, laughter, and wisdom to everyone he met. As a child, he was always mischievous, extremely smart, and a prankster. These attributes followed him into adulthood. Mario’s heart was big, and this is not cliché. He literally would stop on the street and share his food with a homeless person. Though he faced many oppositions he could always find somewhere within to hit reset and move forward; even encouraging others in the midst of his own storms. His aspirations were to take care of all the women in his family who helped raise him and most importantly his kids and mama. Mario loved family more than a fat kid loves cake. You did not have to be his blood to be considered his family. Loyalty and Realness were the way to Mario’s heart. Through his Realness and Loyalty bonds and relationships have been formed with so many that I do not think we will ever be able to grasp.

Mario leaves behind to cherish his memories his children, Chasity ; DeMario, Kamari, Kamonii ; his “Beautiful Black Queen” Anquinette Peterson; his “Lil Big Sis” Maxine Peterson; his “Twin” baby sister Alexis Peterson; niece his “Beautiful Flower” Ayana Peterson; nephew his “Dre Dre” Andre Dennis, Jr.; bonus dad Welton Keener; bonus sisters Toby Keener, Mackeon Thurman, Tia Thurman who preceded him in death, Latoya Thurman, Ruth Keener, Victoria Thurman, bonus brother Elijah Hixson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and an immeasurable amount of family and friends that know him by Kat from Summerhill.
