Ricardo Maurice Gray (Ricardo Suave), a positive light and pure soul, was born on October 17, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia, at Georgia Baptist Hospital to Yolanda Gray and Anthony B. Potts. Affectionately known as “Cardo,” Ricardo was a devoted son, brother, father, and friend whose presence brought joy and comfort to everyone he encountered. From an early age, Ricardo loved sports, especially baseball. He played in the Murphey Candler Baseball League during his elementary school years. His love for music and percussion instruments grew into a passion for rap and other musical genres. Ricardo attended Nancy Creek Elementary and Woodland Elementary, then continued to Sandy Springs Middle School and Haynes Bridge Middle School, before attending North Springs High School, Class of 2005. Ricardo was cherished by his classmates and made countless lifelong memories with his childhood friends at Lynwood Park and Recreation Center, a place that held a special place in his heart while growing up. During his teenage years, Ricardo worked at StarTime Movie Theater in Roswell and later at a Chevrolet dealership, along with other jobs throughout his life. He was a proud member of the Sickle Cell Warriors community, where he built lifelong bonds and exchanged support with fellow warriors. Ricardo embodied true resilience— NEVER allowing his condition to define or limit him. Selfless and compassionate, he constantly checked on others before allowing others to check on him while refusing to make any excuses. He chose to live fully, proving that sickle cell would not overshadow his spirit. Ricardo was a true “Polo fanatic,” known for his sharp style and designer glasses, he displayed power and confidence wherever he went. In 2012, Ricardo met Sharon Creamer, along with her son Cameron Creamer, whom Ricardo helped father and raise. Together, they welcomed their beautiful and spirited son, Nazir Maurice Gray, born on March 29, 2018. Ricardo’s love for his children was unwavering, and he embraced fatherhood wholeheartedly.
