Mr. Walter Earl Mathis

Mr. Walter Earl Mathis was born on December 13, 1951, to his mother, the late Louise Mathis, and father, Oscar Wade Mathis.

Walter graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps, where he was honorably discharged. He studied at St. Leo University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in criminology. Walter was employed with the city of Atlanta, the CDC, and his final job was with FEMA.

Walter was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Walter leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Mrs. Cindy Williams (Charles), Antavious Woods, Mrs. Jackie Hollis (Travis), and Denyale Mathis; two sisters, Laura Mathis Evans and Nakita Mathis; one brother, Michael Anthony Mathis; his significant other, Veronica Johnson; and a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, and nephews.
