Emma Prothro was born Tuesday, March 14, 1944, to Corine Starks and Northward Jenkins in Birmingham, Alabama. Emma was the was the oldest of 3 children.
Emma retired from Fulton County Schools System after 21 years of service. Emma enjoyed old movies, old black and white television shows, good food and her family.
She met and married Brady L Prothro, Jr. early in life and of their union they had 1 child. Emma brought one child to their union.
Emma Prothro was a member of Dixie Hill First Baptist in Atlanta, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Michael E Sutton Sr.
Emma was preceded in death by her Mother Corine Luckey, Sister, Dellma Ann Thomas, Nephews Lonnie and Johnnie Thomas and granddaughter Virgina Ann Ruff.
Emma leaves to cherish her memory her husband Brady L Prothro, Jr; Son Brady Prothro, III, her daughter Susan Ruff (Virgil), Sister Jearline Fagen (NYC), her granddaughters Kathleen Murdock (Andre) and Elizabeth Ruff, her niece Angela Bethea (NYC), her nephew, John Thomas, her great-niece Karina Bethea, and great-great nephew Divine Davis, Jr. (NYC).
Emma Prothro 79 peacefully made her earthly transition to her Heavenly home on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Emma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, a good friend, neighbor and as someone who always tried to see the good in and help others.
