Mrs. Jackie Hurt Obituary

Jackie Monique Bolling Hurt was born on October 5, 1985 to Tracy Allen and Morris Leonard “Nard” Bolling in Atlanta, Georgia. Even at a young age, her intellect, creativity, spunky attitude, and genuine love for family was seen by everyone she met. Jackie’s spiritual relationship with Christ started at a very young age where she enjoyed going to church with her grandparents. She was affectionately named after her maternal grandmother Jackie, earning her the nickname “Baby Jackie.” Jackie was lovingly co-parented by her paternal grandparents, Morris and Marie Bolling.

Jackie matriculated through the Atlanta Public School System where she earned many academic awards from Fickett Elementary, Bunche Middle School, and D.M. Therrell High School. Jackie was an honor student, talented clarinet player, and all around model student. She especially enjoyed family reunions and spending summers in Alabama, the Boys and Girls Club, and South Georgia. In 2003, Jackie graduated from D.M. Therrell High School with honors, following in the footsteps of her parents.

Jackie attended Albany State University where she studied to become a teacher. She completed her undergraduate matriculation at Clayton State University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2014. Jackie was slated to earn her Master’s degree in Education in December of 2021. From Georgia to Hawaii, Jackie served her students with creativity, professionalism and care. She had a special passion for children with disabilities often referring to them as her “babies.” Jackie was also accomplished across multiple professional arenas having started her own business and earned multi-field certifications.

On March 11, 2016, Jackie was joined in matrimony to Tamara Hurt. Jackie loved the adventure, friendships, and sense of purpose she found in being an Army wife. Together, they traveled the world and followed their dreams. Their most recent duty station was in the tropical paradise of Oahu, Hawaii. Jackie and Tamara were proud animal parents of 1 cat Kobe, and 2 dogs Jasmine and Kingston.

In addition to being a wife, scholar, business owner, and educator, Jackie had a strong love for FAMILY. She was her mother Tracy’s best friend, and her sister Sierra’s trusted companion. Jackie was known for always keeping in touch, planning events, organizing vacations, and making sure that the people she loved were celebrated. She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader, encourager, party planner, text message therapist, and so much more. To this end, she loved her sister Sierra and brother Jamal with all her heart. She had a deep adoration for their children Chloe & Jamal Jr. (Jamal), and Robert & Rylen (Sierra). Jackie loved her niece and 3 nephews as if they were her own children.

Preceding Jackie in death was her father, Morris Leonard “Nard” Bolling, paternal grandmother Marie “Na-Na” Bolling, maternal grandfather Herbert Lewis, and dog Jasmine. Jackie leaves to cherish her memory her wife, Tamara Hurt and loving mother, Tracy Allen. She departed her paternal grandfather, Morris “Pa-Pa” Bolling, and maternal grandmother Jackie Lewis. Jackie also leaves her brother Jamal Brown (Crystal), and sister Sierra Allen. Jackie precedes her three beloved aunts Alicia Faye Bell (Dwight), Christina Freeman (Lerrod), and Cassandra Davis (George II). Last but not least, Jackie leaves a host of treasured family and friends because she was often the “glue” that brought everyone together. Jackie Monique Bolling Hurt will be truly missed, but her devotion to family will leave a legacy that will last for generations.
