Obituary

Mrs. Kathryn Douglas was born August 24, 1950. She was the daughter of the amazing Daisy Harris-Adside and Jim H. Caldwell; the oldest of ten children. She departed this life on Friday, April 29, 2022. Mrs. Douglas was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1968. After graduation, she went on to business school to become a secretary but later discovered her true passion – serving, loving, and caring for others. She soon met the love of her life, Mr. Horace Douglas, in 1967. They were married on October 13, 1969, and to the union, they had four wonderful children. Kathryn loved living life to the fullest by traveling and spending quality time with her husband and family. She never missed the opportunity to love on her grandchildren. Kathryn was a god-fearing lady. She never met a stranger; any and everyone that she would meet left that moment feeling encouraged. Those left to cherish her loving memory are: her loving husband, Horace Douglas, of 52 years; four children, Amanda (Bruce) Mathis, Horace (Linda) Douglas, Toby Douglas, and Meeka (Jacson) Moore; seven siblings, Jesse (Montina) Harris, Elise Adside, Ricky (Kathy) Adside, David Adside, Tony Adside, Bobby (Lisa) Adside, and Bishop Timothy (Brianna) Adside; two halfsisters, Linda (Gary) Campbell & Cynthia Caldwell; grandchildren, Rashad, Jacoby, Idris, Tatiana, Bruce Anthone, Amauri, Aiden, Kairi, & Tayla; one aunt, Florine Johnson; one uncle, Roosevelt Caldwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
