Mrs. Marcia Carol (Patterson) Parks

Marcia Carol Parks, born on October 17, 1950, in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on August 31, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Grady Lee Patterson and Iona Patterson. Marcia was a true matriarch and a pillar of her community on Maxwell St in Decatur. She was known for being the life of the party, always hosting family gatherings and sharing her love of soul food. She was deeply devoted to her family, friends, and faith. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23, and she loved the color blue and adored pets, especially her dogs and cats.

Marcia worked as a cashier for many years and also as a club bathroom attendant. She was a beloved figure who meant a great deal to many.

Marcia is survived by her three children: Grady Patterson (and his son Tony Patterson), Melanie Peterson, and Terence Reed.

Marcia's life was a testament to love, joy, and faith. She will be forever remembered and cherished.
