Mrs. Norma Lee Humphries Dugger was born on April 14, 1932, in Atlanta, Georgia, at Grady Memorial Hospital. She was born to the late Reverend Norman Reese Humphries and Jennie Mae Davis Humphries. She was the first born of ten children to this union. She transitioned into glory on May 29, 2023, under the loving care of her granddaughter, Kenya, and her grandson, Ron’s, home with her devoted niece, Jenny Brittin. Norma attended Booker T. Washington High School at an early age. On December 24, 1956, she was united in holy matrimony to the late John T. Dugger in Atlanta, Georgia for forty-four years. To this union, two children were born: Charles R. Dugger and Sharon R. Dugger Longino.

Norma worked at a variety of places in her lifetime. She worked for Country Home Bakery for 23 years. She later worked for Curly’s Cleaners of Atlanta for two years, and then she retired from working with the loving Moore’s Family. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, listening to music, taking care of people, watching television, and spending time with her grands, great-grands, and great-great grands. She always opened her home to anyone in need. She never met a stranger and was always available as a helpful hand.

Norma gave her life to Christ at an early age. She then served as an active member of New Hope Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of the late Rev. R.N. Martin and later Reverend Dennis J. Byrd. In 2003, she joined and became a member of Faith Walk Ministry Unlimited Incorporated under the leadership of Reverend Dennis J. Byrd until she transitioned. She loved serving the Lord with all her heart. She served as a deaconess in the church for many years, and she was a part of the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John T. Dugger; father and mother, Reverend Norman Reese Humphries and Jennie Mae Davis Humphries; daughter, Sharon R. Dugger Longino; six brothers; and two sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories: loving and devoted son, Charles (Johnnie) Dugger; caregiver/granddaughter, Kenya (Ronald) Burgess; granddaughters, Kelly Longino, Norma Lee Ellison, Tanneshia Rogers, and Holly Hill; grandsons, Yaphet (Carmen) Whitehead, Yatta Dugger, Olaniyan Mathis, Derick Wallace, Sean (Measha) Green, and Jermaine (Cassandra) Green; thirty great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; one sister, her heart and bestie, Bertha Jean Crawford; sweet goddaughter, Gitonia (Eddie) Morrison-McBride; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
