Virginia Jackson Randolph was born April 1, 1939, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the youngest of Bessie Dunlap and Junior Jackson. Her siblings, Johnnie, Lizzie, and Frank, all preceded her in death. Ms. Virginia attended Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia, before becoming a nurse at both Crawford Long and Piedmont Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Ms. Virginia passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2020. She is survived by her six children, Stephanie, Joenetta, Quincy, Cedric (Leticia), Melody, and Bobby (Shemear Myles) Randolph, Jr.
While being a mother brought her purpose, being a grandmother brought her immense joy. Ms. Virginia is survived by her grandchildren, Boderick (Sheenia) Bennett, Deboris Bennett, Ashley Bennett, Jomeco (Crystal) Law, Nicholas (Asherah) Allen, Zaskia Randolph, Bryan Allen, Brittany Randolph, Adrienne Randolph, Cornelius Green, Cornisha Green, Devin Randolph, Nicholas Randolph, and Shaleena Randolph. Additionally, Ms. Virginia leaves behind seven great- grandchildren, Saniya, Thierry, Boderick Jr., Deboris Jr., Aiden, Bayleigh, and Candence.
Ms. Virginia’s regal poise and imminent grace were what made her simply unforgettable. She led a life of faithfulness and walked with Christ throughout all of her days. Her favorite scripture was “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life” Psalm 23:6. Ms. Virginia was surrounded by endless love and lived a plentiful life that embodied this sentiment.
