To Everything there is a season and a time 

To every purpose under the heaven

Ecclesiastes 3:1

A Time to Be Born: On May 8, 1953, Betty Dix Geiger was the first child of six children born to the late Charles L. Sr. and the late Mary Smith Dix in Atlanta, Georgia. Two of her siblings proceeded her in death, Sandra and Jeffery Dix.

A Time to Plant: Betty matriculated through the Atlanta Public School System and graduated from The Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1971.

A Time to Serve: Betty was baptized at Springfield Baptist Church at an early age and continued her spiritual walk at Greater Works Assembly.

A Time to Love: Betty was married and to this union two adoring sons were born, Demetrius Geiger whom proceeded her in death and Damien Geiger, whom she adored to her last breath.

A Time to Work: Betty was employed and retired after 25+ years as a supervisor from Atlanta Journal Constitution.

A Time to Laugh: Betty was a joyful and vivacious spirit. She enjoyed making memories with her family, particularly playing Bid Whiz. She also enjoyed going to the casino. 

A Time to Weep: Betty departed this life to enter into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a friend to all who knew her.

Memories of Betty will forever be cherished by her devoted and loving son, Damien Geiger (Sonora Turner); two grandsons, D’monte Geiger and Damien Geiger, Jr.; one great-grandson, Ashton Geiger; two sisters, Beverly Dix and Phyllis Dix-Scott (Lincoln); one brother, Charles L. Dix, Jr. (Victoria); three uncles, Jessie Ray Dix (Carolyn); Lewis Smith and Larry Smith (Mary); one aunt, Mary Jean Dix Watkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, friends and two Ride or Die friends, Gloria Jean Johnson and Bobbie Barber.

A Time to Celebrate: Wednesday, June 10, 2026, and forever more, we will celebrate Betty’s life.
