Jalesia Emanda Horton departed this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Jalesia is preceded in death by her father, the late Joseph Emmanuel Horton, her brother Randy Clifton Walker, maternal grandparents, Joseph and Rosa Pearl Walker, paternal grandparents, Aaron Emmanuel and Pauline Perry Horton, Aunts, Teresa WalkerMontford and Denise Horton-Locklear. Jalesia was born in Atlanta, GA, she attended South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, GA where she graduated in 2010 with honors. Jalesia continued her education at Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA, she graduated in 2014 Magna Cum Laude earning her Bachelor's Degree in Biology, then Valdosta State University where she graduated in 2017 earning her Master’s of library and information science, finally attending Georgia college and state university where she graduated GA in 2022 earning a Master’s of public administration pi alpha alpha honors Jalesia enjoyed reading, which was exemplified in her career as a Librarian. Her employment career started at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), Emory Oxford, and Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX as the Director of Access Services where she had an amazing boss and staff whom she spoke of very highly. She was a part of several leadership organizations at SMU. Jalesia took her first cruise in 2017 and fell in love with traveling, she took 13 cruises after her first experience. She loved musicals, theatrical plays, concerts, movies, reading, and relaxing at home watching tv when she has free time. Jalesia leaves to cherish her loving memory, her mother Phyllis Horton, brother Brannon Walker, sister Phyllisia Howard, nieces and nephew, Brianna Walker, Olivia Howard, Clifton (CJ) Walker, and Ciara Walker, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers, and friends.
