Mrs. Nekeda Meshon Jones-Cox, daughter of the late Mary Ann Jones and O’Kelly Hambrick, was born on September 16, 1980in Atlanta, Georgia. In her earlier years Nekeda grew up in Villa Monte and attended Atlanta Public Schools.
She was united in holy matrimony to John Cox on November 9, 2007. This union was blessed with four children: Jontavia Cox, Nejha Cox, John Cox Jr. and Cashe’ Jones.
Nekeda was dedicated to her family. She loved to gather, cook and dance. She loved to have a good time. Nekeda had a heart of gold. She would always open her home with open arms. She spread love everywhere she went. Nekeda was always one call away when you needed her. Her smile and personality would always be the reason Nekeda never met a stranger. Nekedatouched so many people and adopted so many children. You couldn’t help but love Nekeda.
Her life will forever be cherished by her sister Katika Kendrick-Smith: her daughters; Marquisha Jones, the late Kersten Jones, Shanara Jones, Jontavia Cox, Nejha Cox, Cashe’ Jones, her one and only son: John Cox Jr.; step daughter Markia Cox; six grandchildren: A’Maiya and A’Maria Jones, Emmanuel and Emani Jackson. Nhy’Mere Cox and the late Ja’Brandon Wright; two nephews: Qwan and Eric Kendrick; two nieces Yasmine and Jarica Kendrick; her mother the late Mary Ann Jones, father O’ Kelly Hambrick and sister Katika Kendrick Smith, brother in law Terrance Smith and a host of other nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and close friends.
