Ms. Rosa Andrews Obituary

Rosa Lee Andrews was the daughter of the late Frank & Lula Mae Johnson. Born to that union were five girls and four boys, all of which have preceded her in death. Rosa, being the 7th child, was born April 1, 1919, in Juliette, GA. She received her early education at the public school in Juliette, GA. At an early age, she professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and became a faithful member of St. Peter Rock Baptist Church.
She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Deacon John T. Andrews, on May 5th, and to that union were born two children, Evelyn and Leonard. Leonard was preceded in death on May 14, 1943. The love of her life, John T. Andrews, preceded her in death on November 23, 1982.
Upon moving to Atlanta in 1952, she was employed at the Alamo Plaza and Mary Martin Beauty shop as a licensed cosmetologist. The Andrews family became faithful members of the Iconium Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dixon. “Mother Andrews” as she was affectionately called, became a member of various auxiliary in the church: Deaconess Board, The Fisherman Club, Pastor’s Aid Society, Senior Choir, Senior Matrons, Willing Worker’s, a devoted Sunday School teacher, and Honorary member of the Mother’s Board. She faithfully attended Wednesday night prayer meeting & bible study, until her health began to decline her.
On the morning of May 7, 2021, the Lord placed a clarion call to harken his angels and heard his servants cry “slow down your chariots at the Jordan River and Do Not Pass her by. She has done the work of my plans and needs to take her rest, for I know you loved her, but I love her the best.”
Her beautiful long lived life will forever be cherished in the lives of: her daughter, Evelyn (Henry) Campbell; her grandchildren, Keven Campbell & Patricia Boyd, Terrie (Tony) McCant, Paul Campbell, Paula Lewis & Linton Taylor; six great-granddaughters, Renata & Nicole Campbell, Jasmine & Jordan Lewis, and Alisha & Aaliyah McCant; honorary great-grandsons, Trevor Garvin & Odale Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Nassir, Malaisha, Rayna, Tahj, Remy, and Alex (preceded in death Romero); and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.
