Ms. Tireon Smith Obituary

On April 26, 1993, it was a beautiful and sunny day in Atlanta, Georgia. The weather was slightly warmer than usual, a bundle of joy arrived at Crawford Long Hospital (presently Emory Midtown). Tireon Que’shea Smith was born to Sabrina Reshea Smith and Antonio Ramon Jester. Tireon matriculated through the Atlanta Public School System and furthered her education through Atlanta Metropolitan College. At an early age, she attended and worshipped at New Beginnings Christian Ministries Church, developed a kindred relationship with the families and yet remains etched in their hearts. She loved to sing and learned songs while watching the choirs rehearse. She was one of the liturgical praise dancers and danced during some morning worship services as well as at an event at St. Paul A.M.E. Church (Pryor Road). As she matured, she developed a deep intimacy with God that was built on trust, prayer and a desire to know and be known by God and a desire for a deeper understanding in her spiritual walk. Tireon, an amazing mother to Detavious (aka D.J.) and Tay’vion (aka Tank), raised them to be respectful, polite and open to learn. She attended their award ceremonies, was attentive, dedicated and went above means to ensure that they focused on their school assignments. She raved about their accomplishments and was there for every milestone.

Tireon embraced the opportunity to advance and welcomed the challenge to manage several fast-food chains. Her latest opportunity was employment within the security industry. Although small in stature, Tireon had a big heart. Even when she could not open a door, she opened her heart. She was generous, kind and always willing to help others. She loved family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends during the holidays. She loved people and never met a stranger. She had an infectious smile that captivated the attention immediately after she met you. She was a beacon of light and laughter and brightened the lives of everyone she met with kindness. Our beloved Tireon was called to her heavenly home on October 16, 2025. While she left unexpectedly, we take comfort in knowing that she rests in the hands of God and though her time with us was brief, she lived each day with a passion for others.

Those left to cherish her memories are her mother, Sabrina Reshea Smith; father, Antonio Ramon Jester (Kim); sons, Detavious Lamar Heard, Jr., and Tay’vion Ramon Heard; sisters, Brandis Smith (aka Braan) and Ty’Jhalen Smith (aka Ma’); brother, Keith Barnes, Jr. (aka Ke’j); maternal grandmother, Sara Lawrence; paternal grandmother, Mary Ellen James; maternal great -aunts, Flora Walker and Jean Smith; maternal great-uncle, Ralph (Ann) Smith, Jr.; paternal great-aunt, Elizabeth Owens Travis (Leroy) and bonus child, Saniyah Barnes. She also leaves a cascade of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
