Ms. Willie Mae Harvey Obituary

Mrs. Willie Mae Harvey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on March 6, 2026, at her home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She was 77 years old.

Willie Mae was born on September 5, 1948, in Midville, Burke County, Georgia, to the late Jeff and the late Mattie Pierce. Raised with strong southern values and deep family roots, she grew up knowing the importance of love and looking out for one another. She attended Atlanta Public Schools and proudly graduated from L.J. Price High School, Class of 1966.

From a young age, Willie Mae had a gift for making people feel beautiful, inside and out. As a talented beautician and cosmetologist, she built a life and career centered on service, creativity, and connection. Known for her fashion and style, she carried herself with a little extra flair that was all her own.

Willie Mae was a dedicated wife to her husband, Jerry Harvey, and a loving mother to her daughter, Piper Harvey. Her greatest joy came from being “Gran- Gran” to Jason Dean, Michael Dean, and Matthew Dean.

Known for her humor, Willie Mae could keep you laughing through the good times and the bad. Whether she was cracking a joke, telling a story, or giving you that look that said everything without saying a word.

Willie Mae enjoyed attending music concerts featuring her favorite old-school artists, always embracing the music she grew up with. She loved to dance, play spades, and be the life of the party.

She loved being around family. Her famous baked macaroni and cheese was a family favorite, especially during Thanksgiving, her most cherished holiday. She showed her love through cooking, preparing delicious meals that brought her family together year after year.

She adored her nieces and nephews, greeting them with big kisses and calling each one “Suggah” or “Darling,” just the way Aunties do.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by: her parents, Jeff and Mattie Pierce; and her sisters, Fannie Pierce, Christine Pierce Brock, and Mattie Bell Pierce.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Jerry of Decatur, Georgia; her daughter, Piper; her grandsons, Jason, Matthew, and Michael; her siblings, Louise Chambers, John Pierce, Emma Pierce, Lynett Lewis, Lanesa Pierce, and Stanley Pierce; sister-in-law, Liz Harvey-Burse (Jason); her goddaughter, Tieahs Anderson; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
