John Fredrick Manley, age 81, of East Point, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on April 24th, 2020, at his residence in East Point, Georgia. He was born on April 30th, 1939, in Macon, Georgia. He is survived by his niece Elaine (Wright) Harris and spouse Dana Harris of Atlanta, Georgia.
He was proceeded in death by his parents James Manley Sr. and Eva (Banks) Manley, brother James Manley Jr., sister Mattie (Manley) Few, sister Ellen (Manley) Wright, niece Sandra Wright and nephew John Wright.
John was a proud graduate of Howard University, where he graduated with honors. After graduating from college, John had an extensive career as a military serviceman serving over 20 plus years with The United States Navy and the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Master Sargent. Upon retiring from the United States Military, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where to work at the VA hospital as a pathologist.
John was a loving man with a huge heart. He was soft-spoken, but his kind and thoughtful words always provided his family and friends comfort. John was a life-long learner and an avid reader. He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed telling stories about his life experiences. He also was a man of faith, which provided him guidance throughout his life.
